Fourth of July Fun at The Somerset

Happy Independence Day from your friends at The Somerset on Grace Bay! At The Somerset, we celebrated this American holiday in style as guests relaxed on the beach, lounged by the pool or participated in our Fourth of July Fair! Caicos Kids Club hosted its family-friendly event on the croquet lawn, and kids and parents gathered for games, activities and celebration. Everyone enjoyed sweet treats, including snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy! The group was abuzz with excitement as guests and staff competed in a pie-eating contest, but energy was at an all-time high as the kids played in the inflatable bounce house. Overall, it was a wonderful day of celebration and we appreciate everyone who spent the day with us. From our family to yours, we hope you had a day filled with many treasured times!

Island Fish Fry

Bight Park is the place to be on Thursday night for island visitors and local residents alike, as food vendors, entertainers and cultural acts come together for the Island Fish Fry. This event is truly the culmination of “all things TCI.” Be sure to try our nation’s signature dish – the conch! The Conch Salad from the vendor “Froggies” comes highly recommended by many guests. The highlight of the Fish Fry occurs after the sun sets, with a performance by the local Junkanoo with colorful costumes, plumed feathers and lively music. Cultural acts are interspersed throughout the evening, including performances by dancers from the Edward Garland Youth Centre – the local organization that The Somerset supports. Our island “Henry the Conch” also makes an appearance at this lively event, providing a great photo opp for guests of all ages. Visit the Island Fish Fry This event occurs every Thursday from…

The Second Annual Sundowner Festival is a “Hit”

International artists and local musicians gathered this October for the second annual Turks & Caicos Sundowner Music Festival. The 4-day event began as the talented team visited the local community center. The event included a detailed Q&A session, and then the entire group collaborated to write a song! Guests enjoyed many island performances and a Cruise & Beach Jam. We were delighted to welcome back Wyatt Easterling to the festival. This Nashville multi-platinum producer and chart-topping songwriter was a “hit.” Also included in this year’s line up was Grammy-winning songwriter & producer Phil Madeira (pictured below), the returning Pop/Rock duo Naked Blue and Country artist Lacy Jade. Guests enjoyed the lively tunes as they danced the night away. There was a great turnout, and we were honored with an appearance by the Turks & Cacios Premier. The night ended with an encore presentation, as our talented artists performed one final…
