Ask the Concierge

Q: How do you arrange airport pick up?

A: Ground transportation may be coordinated via taxi, private SUV or rental car. If you’d like The Somerset to help with arrangements, email the reservations staff with your flight information. The Somerset airport greeter will be prepared for your arrival and can guide you to your transportation.

  • Taxi: $28 for 1-2 people, $14 each additional person.
  • Private SUV: $120 for 1-2 people, and $10 for each additional person.
  • Car Rentals: Make arrangements prior to your stay. Our recommended vendor is Grace Bay Rentals.

Once you’re at the resort, if you want to make transportation arrangements during your stay or for your departure, I’ll be happy to assist.

Q. How do you make reservations for the Tuesday night Beach Party BBQ?

A: You may make Beach Party BBQ reservations prior to your stay by emailing us the size of your party and date you plan to attend. However, we always have availability for in-house guests, so you can also coordinate the reservations during your stay. The BBQ buffet is $49 per person or $64 per person with lobster (when in season).

Q. What equipment is available at the resort?

A: Our complimentary kayak, snorkeling gear and bike rentals are based on a first-come-first served basis, and no sign-ups are required.

Q. What is the required attire for Pavilion restaurant or the Monday Manager’s Cocktail Reception?

A: The dress code for Pavilion is resort causal, meaning a collared shirt, dressy shorts or slacks. Ladies can wear dressy sandals, and men should wear closed-toe shoes. Guests tend to go directly to dinner afterwards.

Q. How do you reserve a spot in group fitness classes?

A: The sign-up sheet is located on our desk, and guests are welcome to sign up any time of the day. If you forget to sign up, feel free to still drop in, as we always have availability for in-house guests. Paddleboard Fitness, Pilates by the Pool and Yoga are $25 per class.

Q. Do you have to make reservations for Caicos Kids Club?

A. Yes, guests must sign up 24 hours prior. Kids must be 5 years or older to attend without supervision. The Caicos Kids Club hours are from 10 a.m. – noon and 2 – 4 p.m. and closed on Sunday. The activity schedule is subject to change, and off-property activities (e.g., conch farm visit) require parent accompaniment.

Q. What are the most popular activities to do on-island?

A. The Island Fish Fry on Thursdays and the Tuesday night Beach Party BBQ at The Somerset.

Q. What off-property restaurants do you recommend?

A. While Pavilion has exceptional cuisine and daily specials, we understand our guests want to explore the area and try a variety of restaurants. For off-property dining, I recommend Bay Bistro, Opus, Coco Bistro, Mango Reef, Parallel 23, Bella Luna, Caicos Café, Magnolia’s, Infiniti, Via Vento, 72 West, Hemmingway’s, Mr. Grouper and of course, the Island Fish Fry.

Q. What are the best options for romance?

A. Guests can indulge in a couples’ massage at our spa or enjoy private dining on the beach. For a less traditional option, we can arrange a romantic sunset cruise or a private picnic for two on a secluded island.

Q. What vendors does The Somerset recommend?

A. Whether it’s a car service driver or tour operators, the management team and I personally vet every vendor we recommend to our guests. Before booking any excursions or activities, it’s in your best interest to discuss your plans with our team—We’re also happy to help make off-site arrangements for you.
