Meet the Chef!

The Somerset on Grace Bay is proud to introduce our new Executive Chef – Eversley Rowe.

Chef Rowe, has garnered 25 years of culinary experience in the hospitality sector, and has expertly commandeered kitchens throughout the Caribbean. His culinary philosophy is rooted in a belief that food should be fresh, simple, but sinfully flavorful, and he inspires the same in his team. His Caribbean heritage has informed his use of textures, colors and flavors in the preparation and presentation of his decadent creations.

Hailing from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Chef Eversley was introduced to the culinary world at a young age. As a product of the Sandals brand, he began as a trainee in Jamaica back in 1991, moving to Turks and Caicos in 2009 to take a position as a Sous Chef at Beaches Resort.

In 2009 Chef Eversley earned his Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, and followed with Certifications as Department Trainer and Supervisor. He is Certified in Customer Service Management and Managing the Service Function. Chef Rowe is also ServSafe Certified and places emphasis on food quality and safe practices.

Outside of the kitchen, Chef Rowe has exercised his culinary prowess in competitions and earned titles at Jerk Fest, Conch Fest, and Top Chopped Chef, and has won medals as a part of the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association’s National Culinary Team.

Chef’s passion for Culinary Arts and his keen interest in youth development sparked an idea which drove him to volunteer at The Edward Gartland Youth Centre in TCI to teach children ages 12 – 18 years old, basic cooking skills. He has also trained and mentored budding Chefs for the TCHTA’s Hospitality Adventure Lit’l Chefs program.

The Somerset is delighted that Chef Rowe has joined the team. His addition brings a five-star culinary experience and five-star service to our guests.
