Meet Roberto Rivera de la Rosa! Perhaps you’ve seen his face around the resort serving as a prominent member of The Somerset’s security team, but Roberto is not your average security guard. For the last ten years, he has worked on one of the biggest projects of his life – publishing his first book, Universal Theory of Life. Hailing from the Dominican Republic where he studied philosophy, Roberto believed there were too many existential questions about life to go unanswered. Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going? Does God exist? Ms. Sharon and Caicos Kids Club

Have your kids met Ms. Sharon yet?! Also known as the backbone of The Somerset on Grace Bay’s Caicos Kids Club, Ms. Sharon has been with the resort for over 2 years and has been working with kids professionally for 25 years. She started at The Somerset as a resort babysitter, and due to her experience and outstanding way with kids, she was soon hired to help run Caicos Kids Club – our complimentary kids program. Perhaps you’ve seen his bright smile around the lobby or experienced his warm personality at the front desk. Adrain is one of our shining staff members ready to greet you upon check-in. Born and raised in the Bahamas, Adrain first came to The Somerset on vacation with family. So wowed by the resort’s beauty, he thought to himself, “If I ever moved to Providenciales, this would be my first choice.” He is now in his second year with the team. Adrain is all about guest satisfaction and ensuring that guests feel welcome and truly at home. After arriving at Providenciales airport and heading through customs, Gilbert will be one of the first friendly faces to welcome you to paradise. Gilbert joined The Somerset on Grace Bay in February 2018 and is our newest team member. As our airport greeter, he will help coordinate your ground transportation and guide you to a shared taxi, rental car or limo. “I’m a people person and like getting to meet new guests every day.” Much to everyone’s excitement, Gilbert is also on the Men’s National Soccer Team for TCI. He trains four times each week and plays defense. He enjoys teaching soccer tricks to guests and loves kicking the soccer ball around with kids on the croquet lawn or the grass by the pool. If you’ve stayed at The Somerset or are in the process of planning your Grace Bay vacation, chances are you’ve connected with Berry Jean Francois — The Somerset’s dedicated Concierge Agent. A Vibrant Background Hailing from the island of Hispaniola, Berry spent her early childhood in Haiti before migrating to Turks & Caicos. She lived in the nation’s capital, Grand Turk, for many years before moving to Provo. From working at Margaritaville, Grand Turk’s Cruise Ship Pier and Beaches, Berry joined The Somerset in 2016 with a wealth of hospitality and concierge experience. At The Somerset Berry manages the pre-arrival grocery shopping, arranges private airport transfers, coordinates excursions, creates special anniversary or birthday celebrations and assists with check-in. The Somerset Welcomes Kevin Reeder

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Kevin Reeder, The Somerset’s new General Manager. Kevin is a life-long hospitality professional by both education and career. He earned both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and has worked in the industry for 24 years. Kevin brings executive management experience in resort, special events, salon, spa and winery operations. “I’m privileged to be joining the outstanding team of The Somerset on Grace Bay and to becoming a part of the warm, welcoming Turks & Caicos community,” said Kevin. Kevin has a long history of serving on boards that are close to his heart including his current work with Finger Lakes United Cerebral Palsy and Happiness House. Billy Joe Williams is our resort’s Guest Services Ambassador and has been a member of The Somerset team for almost 6 years. Ambassador, first class Mr. Williams is no stranger to the travel industry. Prior to joining The Somerset, he worked in guest services and ticketing at the TCI international airport. He has even traveled to American Airline’s Texas headquarters for customer service training. Now, he helps manage The Somerset’s front desk and ensures our guests have a seamless vacation experience. Often, Billy is the first of many friendly faces our guests see. The Somerset Welcomes Tasia Simons as Activities Coordinator

Please join us in welcoming our new Activities Coordinator, Tasia Simons! Tasia joins us from Florida and brings a variety of industry and educational experience to The Somerset. Tasia will plan and implement our Caicos Kids Club activities, and ensure our younger guests create many treasured times. With her bright smile and warm personality, Tasia loves meeting new people and has already developed strong personal connections with many guests. Caicos Kids Club During your stay, join Tasia for Caicos Kids Club fun! Kids ages 5-12 are welcome, and activities are from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. (24-hour advance registration is required.) The program changes daily, but some of the most popular activities include beach games, tie-dye, paper crafts and treasure hunts! Tasia’s priority is helping create fun moments for the entire family.
