The Somerset Wins Savory Division in 2018 Chocolate Lover’s Competition

February is the month of love, flowers, and most importantly, chocolate! To celebrate everyone’s favorite indulgence, The Somerset participated in Turks & Caicos’ 8th Annual Chocolate Lover’s Competition. The island’s best chefs competed with sweet and savory chocolate-inspired dishes. The Somerset Executive Chef Brad Townsend and Pavilion Pastry Chef Mercedes Fernandez prepared Lobster Stuffed Agnolotti, with a Champagne, white chocolate cream sauce. Their culinary talent and creativity delighted many guests, and The Somerset team took home the gold title for the Savory Division. The event benefited the Salvation Army and its school hot-lunch program. We were honored to support such an important cause, and had a wonderful time participating!

The Somerset Named Four-Star Hotel By Forbes Travel Guide

Winter travel destinations: “Look no further” – QC Exclusive

The winter months are here, which means temperatures may be dropping where you are. According to a recent article in QC Exclusive Magazine, Charlotte’s Guide to the Good Life, a winter escape to white sand and warm sunshine on Grace Bay beach is just what the doctor ordered. Turks & Caicos: A Top Island in the Caribbean & Atlantic

Our treasured home, Turks & Caicos Islands, has just been named among the “Top 10 Islands in the Caribbean & Atlantic” in the Condé Nast Traveler 2013 Readers’ Choice Awards. To be featured in the Awards, readers review their favorite hotels, resorts, airlines, cities, cruises and islands around the world. Islands are rated based on several categories, such as friendliness, lodging, scenery and beaches. This year close to 80,000 readers participated in the survey, more than ever before. Condé Nast Traveler applauds voters for praising “quality where it thrives, and find(ing) it where it emerges.” Turks and Caicos certainly radiates quality, and this is not the first time the islands have been recognized in the Readers’ Choice Awards. Nadia Carriere, Founder/Editor of Child Mode, recently visited our Turks and Caicos resort to discover what it has to offer for a luxury family vacation. Nadia reviewed her mother-daughter getaway on her site, highlighting her villa accommodations, LunaSea Pool Bar & Grill, beach dining and more. In the May/June 2013 issue of New Canaan-Darien magazine, The Somerset on Grace Bay was listed among the three “beach destinations (that) sizzle.” The article raves about the world-famous Grace Bay beach with “powdery sand that extends for twelve miles along turquoise waters.” The Somerset was recognized as being “a prime location for a family getaway” blending “comforts of villa living with the amenities of a larger resort.” Another perk for a family getaway at The Somerset is our kids’ club dinner, giving parents an opportunity for a romantic meal together. We all know that Grace Bay is a magical place.
