Warm spring greetings from your friends at The Somerset! This past weekend, guests were in high spirits as they lounged on the beach, relaxed by the pool and participated in the Caicos Kids Club Easter Extravaganza. The kids excitedly jumped in the inflatable bounce house, enjoyed the cotton candy machine and participated in games! The Potato Sack race was certainly a highlight, as the competitors hopped across the croquet lawn. For arts & crafts, the Caicos Kids Club dyed eggs and decorated jewelry boxes. Then, candy-filled eggs were scattered across the property for the Egg Hunt! Guest of all ages created treasured times, and it was a wonderful celebration. Happy Independence Day from your friends at The Somerset on Grace Bay! At The Somerset, we celebrated this American holiday in style as guests relaxed on the beach, lounged by the pool or participated in our Fourth of July Fair! Caicos Kids Club hosted its family-friendly event on the croquet lawn, and kids and parents gathered for games, activities and celebration. Everyone enjoyed sweet treats, including snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy! The group was abuzz with excitement as guests and staff competed in a pie-eating contest, but energy was at an all-time high as the kids played in the inflatable bounce house. Overall, it was a wonderful day of celebration and we appreciate everyone who spent the day with us. From our family to yours, we hope you had a day filled with many treasured times!
With Easter weekend quickly approaching, The Somerset is abuzz with spring spirit. This year, we continue to put a tropical twist on a classic event as we gear up for the 6th annual “sea”ster hunt. Caicos Kids Club Fun The week leading up to the big event, youngsters can put their creativity and artistic skills to work. With Caicos Kids Club, the kiddos will decorate and paint egg-shaped rocks. The Big Event Finally, on Good Friday guests will gather on the beach as the colorful pebbles are tossed into the turquoise waters of Grace Bay. Then, the eager participants (and parents) begin the search and snorkel to see who can collect the most “eggs.” The family who retrieves the most eggs will be deemed the winners! Then, they’ll have their name engraved on The Somerset’s “Conch Shell Award,” and the permanent trophy remains on display in our resort’s reception area. This…

This winter, the Polar Vortex has hit the US and Canada like the Polar Express. As a result, many guests escaped their city’s frigid temperatures and headed to Turks & Caicos to enjoy a Caribbean Christmas. Treasured Times were celebrated by guests of all ages, as families traded snowmen for holiday sand sculptures. Santa Claus even traveled all the way from the North Pole to make a special appearance at The Somerset. The Great “Sea”ster Hunt We put our tropical twist on a classic egg hunt for the fifth year in a row! Throughout the week, egg-shaped rocks were painted by the talented children of our Caicos’ Kid Club. On Good Friday, families gathered on the beach for the Great “Sea”ster Hunt. The rocks were scattered throughout the turquoise waters, and families snorkeled to see who could collect the most! And the winner is…the Fallon family from Rumson, NJ! The Fallon’s name will be engraved on this conch…
Join us as we celebrate the Fourth of July with a family-style picnic BBQ by the pool. This Friday, July 4 from 6 to 9:30 p.m., dance to the tunes of a live band, The Island Boys, and enjoy delicious grilled picnic food with family and friends. On Good Friday, April 18, 2014, nine intrepid athletes gathered on The Somerset on Grace Bay’s beach, to participate in the resort’s 5K Easter run. At the sound of the whistle, each runner trekked 2.5 Kilometers north toward the Leeward tip of Providenciales, then turned around to cross the finish line back at the resort. Commemorative trophies were distributed and a good time was had by all. First place overall goes to Jeff Cheong – 30 minutes, 10 seconds First place child goes to Mira Cheong – 48 minutes, 19 seconds First place child under 12 goes to Ellie Rogowski – 35 minutes, 36 seconds
Love was in the air at The Somerset on Friday in celebration of Valentine’s Day, 2014. Cupid, also known as The Somerset’s Housekeeping Supervisor, Colbert Servil, made a special appearance to celebrate the annual day of love with all of our resort guests. Cupid greeted arriving guests with a special red rose. The Somerset Front Office staff were also in full spirit, adorned in the color of love and welcoming guests with Happy Valentine’s Day wishes. The romance continued all afternoon with surprise rose deliveries to our guests in-house. Whether they were lounging by the pool or beach, or dining on property, Cupid made sure everyone had a “Valentine.” We hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Happy Halloween! To celebrate in style, The Somerset on Grace Bay has special tricks and treats in store for our resort guests this evening. Candy Hunt Kaye Ann, our fabulous Caicos Kids Club director, will lead our younger guests in a Halloween candy hunt around property. Halloween Happy Hour Adult guests, this one is for you. If candy doesn’t satisfy your cravings, how do cocktails sound? Join us poolside from 5 – 7 p.m. for a special Halloween Happy Hour. Bring out your inner child and wear your best Halloween costume for the treat of free drinks. The trick? You must be dressed up.
