The Somerset on Grace Bay’s signature Cantaloupe Cocktail is a luscious, original recipe relying primarily on Turks & Caicos Island-produced ingredients, particularly delicious local rums and homegrown cantaloupe, a melon whose juice is rarely used in the making of mixed drinks.
- 2 oz. 70 proof Bambarra Coconut Rum 70 (“The Spirit of Turks & Caicos”)
- 1 oz. 80 proof Bambarra Black Rum
- 4 oz. Cantaloupe juice (likely not found in stores – purchase whole and puree/juice)
- 1 oz. Cranberry juice
- 1 oz. Pineapple juice
- 1 Mint sprig
In a highball or double old fashioned glass, crush the mint sprig. Pour in the Bambarra Coconut Rum and juices. Fill glass with ice and stir. Top off with the Bambarra Black Rum. Garnish with Cantaloupe wedge and mint leaf (cantaloupe colored umbrella optional!).
